A Christian is someone who has accepted what Jesus did for them on the cross. They then decide to go on this lifelong journey with Him, as he reveals to them what their purpose is, what he has created them to do, and most importantly, make disciples of all men. (The great commission). A Christian is also someone who believes that the Bible is the written word of God, and observes to do all that is in it. (Josh 1:8). This person has also chosen not to live for themselves anymore, but to live for God.

As a Christian, you must show love to others, you must be kind, and you must be slow to anger. As a Christian, you realize that your body is now God’s temple, and you don’t just do as you please with it, because you now belong to someone else. Related Article: Modern Day Christianity But these days, there are a lot of people who go by the title Christian, but their lives don’t really show it. There are countless questions people are asking today— Can I also be gay and Christian? I am a Christian, but I sleep around, I am a Christian, but I compromise on certain things.
What does it really mean to be Christian? As a Christian, you can’t do anything God requires of you, outside of him. If you decide to do so, then that is works based, there is no faith in what you are doing, and without faith, it is impossible to please God. John 15:5–apart from me, you can do nothing. It is his spirit that works in us, the will and to do all his good pleasure. We were not designed to go on this journey alone; God wants to walk alongside with us while empowering us to live for him.
As a believer, you are called to do many things; you are called to love, forgive, rebuke, give, sacrifice, live holy, tithe, and the list is endless. But You cannot accomplish all these things without the power of God in you. If you try to do so, you will get frustrated with your Christian journey.
If you have chosen this path, you have to come to the realization, that your life is no longer your own. Everything you do moving forward has to pass through God. You have to now view your life, through the lens of the word of God. God doesn’t expect you to be all he has called you to do without him, because he is the one that empowers us to live the way he has called us to.
So for example, if you are struggling with any sin, the more you spend time with him, the more he empowers you to live a holy life. A lot of people struggle with balancing their lives with their Christian walk, but when it comes to Christianity, Christ should be at the center of your life, and not just another part of you. He is the very foundation that holds the Christian life together. When you allow God to rule your life, then things will begin to fall in place. You are a Christian if you love him, love yourself, love your neighbors and do as He commands. Then the world will see what it means to be a Christian.
