‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and subdue it.’ —Genesis 1:28. A command that a divine being gave His creation, which He called good after He had admired the work of His hands.

Be fruitful and multiply, and have dominion over the entire earth; a divine commandment, given by God to humans, which set the devil in a rage, which we still see in today's world. It was as if when God gave humanity, that commandment which was backed by authority; it set the enemy in motion to counter everything God freely gave to mankind. So why was this commandment so important? Let’s Talk!
Be Fruitful and Multiply- The commandment, before the first commandment
Throughout the history of God's children in the Bible, the enemy has been out to destroy humanity, innocent lives. He has been after this divine commandment; God first gave to Adam and Eve. He has looked for strategic ways to take the lives of children, the fruits of the wombs of women. From Pharaoh, giving a command to the midwives, to kill every male child that a Hebrew woman gave birth to, during the time of Moses, (because the Israelites were becoming too vast) to King Herod, providing the same command, for boys between the ages of 0-2, because there was a threat to his throne.
Whenever there is a threat, that sets the enemy into a rage, and he wants to do everything, within his power, to stop that threat. As it were in the days of Moses and Jesus. It got me thinking, could it be that he is still fighting so fiercely today because he knows what the future of our children might be and what they can achieve for God on this planet? Some time ago in the southern part of Nigeria (Calabar), they believed in the killing of twins. So if a woman gave birth to twins, there was a myth that one of them was evil, and because they couldn’t determine who was who, they abandoned the kids in the forest to die.
Those kids, who suffered infanticide, could have been the next inventor of something great; maybe they could have discovered the cure for cancer, or could have been amazing contributors to their society. Now we will never know and suffer in some capacity, because they were never given a chance at life, to realize their purpose. In today's world, there are a lot of women who are dealing with infertility issues. Some have suffered countless miscarriages, while some are perfectly okay, but can't seem to conceive. That is one end of the spectrum.
There are also women, who have marched for the rights, to be able to terminate their pregnancies in the early stages, for various reasons. Some believe that the fetus is not a child. That is another end of the spectrum. In between those two extremes, are the countless crimes against children. High schools in the United States, are no longer safe, nobody knows when the next shooting spree would take place. No one knows when they kiss their teenager or pre-teen in the morning, good-bye, if that will be the last time they will ever see them.
The northern part of Nigeria is not any better. A group of girls were abducted from their school in 2014, and not all of them have returned home, for what is going to be five years, in the summer of 2019. The authorities are still fighting to bring these children back. All of this going on, makes me think that there is a divine calling on this generation, which the enemy is trying so hard to stop.
As believers, we have to understand the times and seasons we are living in. That is a department the enemy is well versed in. He knows what is about to happen and he is fighting to stop God's plan at all costs. Most of the stories we read in the Bible, tell of times when God raised up great men and women to bring His plans to life. From Moses to Joshua, to Deborah, to Esther, to Samson to Gideon, to David, to John, to Jesus and then the apostles.
And each time, they either received a divine instruction from God on how to preserve themselves, or their parents got this revelation from God because they were unique children, who God wanted to use for mighty works. Imagine if Jesus was killed before He even had a chance to save humanity, where will we be right now? I don’t know. We all have heard this saying “our children are the future of tomorrow.” So if there are no children, where does our future lie? Permit me to touch on a controversial issue for a minute.
Homosexuality and all its derivatives is also an agenda of the enemy to stop this great command from God, which has to do with being fruitful and multiplying. The fight against our future, that is going on right now is so vicious. I have watched debates on how it should be allowed for children, who feel trapped in the wrong gender, to start their transition early. I've seen videos of people flaring up when strangers address them in the ‘wrong' gender.
When people of the same sex, come together, they can never be fruitful with each other or multiply. It is spiritually, biologically and scientifically impossible. And I don’t personally believe any of that would change, even in millions of years to come. And if that ever happens, then that means the word of God is all lies. What then can us as Christians do, to stop the enemy's agenda? We have to become prayerful. We have to ask God to heal our land, we have to find out what our purpose is, and serve in that area while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are lost.
A lot of people just don't know the truth, people are hurting on the inside and are carrying so much burden, that they turn to whatever seems to give them hope at that moment. It might be a community that welcomes them with open arms when family members have rejected them, or it might be drugs and alcohol for some. A woman who feels rejected by a boyfriend or partner who promised them the entire world, and left suddenly after they heard these words: ‘I am pregnant.'
Leaving her with slim to no other choice, because she can’t even take care of herself, not to talk of a child. And if she doesn’t have hope in Jesus, that all will work out well in the end, she will turn to the choice, which others have marched to make it possible for her to choose. We must become sensitive to the things of the spirit, and not think everything is just a physical battle because the bible says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, rulers of the dark world and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6).
If the world is oblivious, we as Christians cannot afford to be ignorant as well. We have the answer. Let us come together and protect humanity before we become extinct. Let us come together and pray for the lost souls so they can find their way back to a God who loves them. And Let us come together and share Jesus with those around us, so they can have hope as we do. Because we all go through trying times, as humans, but what sets the Christian apart, is that we always have hope in Jesus, regardless of the outcome. And let us trust in the future of our children because they might just be able to make the world a better place to exist in.
Phewww! This was one tough topic to talk about, I have been dancing around it for weeks, but I believe that it is a message that needs to be out there. What are your thoughts on this matter? Leave your comments below, remember to like, share and subscribe, never to miss an update.
